I’m running to continue serving on the Fridley City Council because I’m committed to this community and want to help make sure Fridley remains a great place to live, work, raise a family, and call home. My experience in Fridley has given me a unique perspective on our city. I’ve served our community as a city employee, volunteer, commissioner, and now as a member of the City Council. I understand how local government works, but more importantly, I understand the community it serves. I believe city government works best when it stays focused on the things we can directly impact here at home. That means maintaining safe neighborhoods, investing in our streets and parks, supporting responsible budgets, being mindful of the property tax burden on residents, and making decisions with Fridley’s long-term future in mind. I want to continue bringing my experience in both local and state government to my work on the City Council while listening to residents, asking thoughtful questions, and staying focused on what is best for Fridley.
Diversity and inclusivity are important to me, and they
aren’t just buzzwords. What makes Fridley special is our
growing community that welcomes people from all walks
of life. Our diversity strengthens our neighborhoods,
schools, businesses, and community organizations.
A strong Fridley is one where everyone feels welcome,
respected, and connected to their community. I am
committed to continuing to foster a city where people feel
they belong and have the opportunity to thrive.
Many residents in our community are feeling a financial
pinch, including my own household. Residents are
balancing responsibilities to their families, homes, schools,
and community, and the city must be thoughtful and
disciplined in how taxpayer dollars are spent.
Now more than ever, it’s important to prevent a heavy tax
burden on residents. I support smart budgeting and long-
term financial planning that maintains strong city services
while positioning Fridley for a sustainable future.
Fridley is a safe and welcoming community, and
maintaining that sense of safety is a top priority. The
Fridley Public Safety Department provides responsive,
community-focused service, and I am committed to
ensuring that continues.
Through my work with the Minnesota Chiefs of Police
Association, I’ve connected with public safety leaders
across Minnesota and have gained insight into what
works — and doesn’t — in other communities. This
experience helps support a high standard and strong
expectations for public safety in Fridley.
Fridley’s parks and natural spaces are an important part of
our community and quality of life. I was on city staff and
helped launch the Parks System Improvement Plan, later
served on the Parks & Recreation Commission, where I
helped shape the plan, and now, as a City
Councilmember, I’ve had the opportunity to help see
these improvements through. I’m committed to continuing
to invest in our parks, trails, and green spaces while
advocating for the nature areas that make Fridley a great
place to live.
Have questions or suggestions? I would love to hear from you!
